As much as I welcome a good league administration, I think this rulebook + the discussion I'm seeing here will lead from, and I don't mean to offend anyone, an amateur-endurance-league-ran-by-amateur-admins to a very-professional-endurance-league-aimed-at-unexperienced-drivers-who-have-no-life-outside-LFS.
I also think that in the end, at least on the first races, half of the grid will have no idea of the actual rules because they a) couldn't bother reading it or b) read it superficially and forgot most of it. And then those who really took the effort to read and understand will suffer anyway.
I'm not saying what is good or bad, just thinking about it. What I know for sure is that I got very happy when NDR stepped up and now I find myself not wanting to take part. Not that it matters much, as I see some people are indeed interested.
I'm just sad, there's so much effort these days enforcing things that racing itself is just an extra.
Yeah... But then again there were cars everywhere, I don't think after 20 minutes or so you could do a clean lap at all. And I didn't see or hear about any accident, which is quite impressive and just shows how good (fast or not) these guys are.
The speed difference was really scary, I found it hard to judge as I came near the T1 braking zone and there was slower cars braking - you come so fast and show a nose, but in the end they brake a lot later and the cornering speed is more similar than you'd expect, so it was usually safer to pass after the corner.
Quite nice to storm through the s/f straight with all those slower cars battling.
Good stuff, my race was going quite nice, could've finished from 3rd to 5th, as me, bean0 and EliteAti were close all the time.
Did one mistake at the middle of the race that cost me the 3rd place, but was around 1-2 seconds behind bean0 and catching up (I think).
Was really really hoping for a fight but then the power went down. Pretty insane as I'm using a notebook plugged on a 19'' monitor - everything was ok, but the monitor suddenly died... I thought "oh noes hope I didn't take anyone out with me", but the router died too obviously and I timed out.
Anyway thanks for coming everyone, there's more next year. And thanks J@tko for taking care of the children.
Well had the same problem yesterday (lack of internets), seems ok now.
Anyway, updated the OP and I'm glad to say we have 8 confirmed teams to race Sunday. Still considering some other options as of now, but 24 cars seem to be a very good number in that short track.
Most of the teams have line ups now, go check to see who you're racing against. There's still time to try to get in by the way.
Ok we have two extra free spots. One of them will be granted to a second Concept team, the other will join the public spots.
There's still time if you want to take part, just post here. I'll set another deadline for Wednesday - the day we'll decide who goes in and who doesn't.
